Fashion Trends for Spring 2008
So what are the trends for Spring? As far as colors go, soft hues of gray and beige are making a big comeback this season as the metallics continue to be a mainstay as a new neutral. These colors will look so great with both bright and soft whites which have been dominant season over season for the past year. Cooler hues of blue from navy to cobalt are also returning. The jewel Tones for Spring 2008 are purple and jade. Not so mellow yellow and tangerine orange will add a lot of cheer to those who love bright colors!
Safari and tribal patterns are fun trends that have carried over from last year. Staple pieces include bold, solid hues but store the neon dresses. Floral is everywhere you can wear it in a flattering manner with geometrics also playing an important role. There are lots of prints but plaids have gone away for now. Menswear and shirting still looks smart. Trenches are big as are the monochromatic look. Dresses and skirts in flattering cuts look just great this season. Shirt dresses and wrap dresses are everywhere. Stripes will play a limited role in Spring 2008 fashion.
As far as accessories, jewelry is big and chunky and the hottest shoes are oxfords, sandals and wedges. For those who dare, Gladiator Sandals are still big. The fun trend from winter of interesting and monumental heels continues this season. Animal prints continue to have their place. Belts are still prevalent but they are getting a little thinner. Gold hardware seems to be the trim of choice. Patent leather is still a great bling for spring. Purses are either slim or luggage-like. Really don't see many of the tiny clutches in the new collections.
The fabrics are luxe and sheer. Textured silk, chiffon, tulle and organza add beautiful sheer while cotton denim, embossed leather and dimensional knits provide a luxurious backdrop.
